Escape Studios together with The Bigger Boat win Best Website Design at the Prolific North Creative 2024 Awards

Escape Studios, one of the UK’s leading schools for animation, games and VFX are happy to announce they have won the Best Website Design category at the established Prolific North Awards 2024 in collaboration with The Bigger Boat . The award highlights their commitment to excellence in digital design and innovation, setting a new benchmark.

The awards ceremony, held in Manchester, celebrated outstanding achievements in the creative and digital sectors across the North of England. The collaborative project between Escape Studios and The Bigger Boat impressed the judges with its intuitive user experience, cutting-edge design and seamless functionality.

Dr Ian Palmer, Principal of Escape Studios, said: “Winning this award is a testament to the hard work and creativity of both our team and The Bigger Boat. Our goal was to build a website that reflects our creative DNA and our mission to offer something unique to our students and partners, and this award is recognition of the success of the project.”

Senior UI/UX Designer at The Bigger Boat, Charlotte Conqueror shared: “It was great to work alongside Escape Studios to revitalise and revamp their website. Known for being one of the UK’s best-rated training and teaching institutions for all things animation, games and VFX, we knew we had to deliver vast amounts of significant information about the undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses on offer, but we also wanted to breathe some life into the design and make sure we had fun with it, with subtle nods to gaming features such as keyboard keys, language, retro buttons and loading bars that mimic that seen on computer games. We turned the colours on their head, opting for a darker look and feel with pops of colour, letting the student work take centre stage, but we were also committed to making sure the website is accessible for all and easier for prospective and existing students to easy access and navigate to pages of interest.”
