What was your first impression of Escape Studios?
My first impression of Escape Studios was one of excitement and inspiration. Entering the studios for the first time, I was immediately struck by the creative energy in the air. The walls are adorned with work from past and current students, giving a sense of the high calibre of talent that thrives here. The facilities are more than enough for any student and wouldn’t require buying any sort of equipment.
The staff and instructors were welcoming and passionate about their fields, which was both reassuring and motivating. They’re not just teachers – they’re industry professionals who bring real-world experience into the classroom. The sense of community among students was also evident; everyone seemed genuinely excited to be there, eager to learn and collaborate. Overall, Escape Studios felt like a place where creativity and industry meet, a hub where you can truly grow as an artist and professional.
Can you describe the community and culture at Escape Studios?
The community and culture at Escape Studios is vibrant, collaborative, and deeply rooted in creativity. From the moment you join, you feel like part of a close-knit family that’s united by a shared passion for the creative industries. Whether you are studying animation, visual effects or games, there is a strong sense of camaraderie among students, who are always willing to share ideas, offer feedback, and support each other’s projects. During the first year you get to meet students from games, animation and VFX since you are in the same class and you all work on the same projects and get to know how things work in different fields.
The culture is very much industry focused with a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork, mirroring the dynamics of the creative sectors that students aspire to enter. You will find that everyone, from instructors to peers, is driven by the same goal: To produce high quality work that stands out in a competitive field. This drive creates a dynamic environment where innovation is encouraged and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible is the norm.
In addition to the academic side, there’s also a lively social scene. Whether it’s through student-led clubs, industry talks, or social events, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals who share your interests. The overall vibe is one of inclusivity and mutual respect, where everyone is encouraged to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. It’s a place where you can not only hone your technical skills but also build lasting relationships with future colleague and friends.
