Escape Studios is one of the UK's leading animation, games and VFX schools, supplying the industry with studio-ready talent. Our courses are designed and delivered with industry experts within a welcoming, close-knit and successful community.
Our world-class industry partners include Industrial Light & Magic, Framestore, The Mill, DNEG, Milk VFX, Creative Assembly, Cinesite, Blue Zoo and MPC. Through our partnership with Epic Games, we were the UK’s first Unreal Authorized Training Center and are an Unreal Engine Academic Partner.
Approved and endorsed internationally as a Rookies and Houdini certified school, we offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses. Our Escapees have worked on award-winning TV series Stranger Things and Obi-Wan Kenobi, along with Oscar and BAFTA nominated films such as Avatar: The Way of Water, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Batman, Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, The Banshees of Inisherin and bestselling games Assassin’s Creed, Uncharted 2 and Forza Horizon.
Student work success
Our tutors encourage students to submit their short films and projects for international festivals and awards. They’ve won and been nominated for hundreds of awards, including undergraduate Animation and VFX short Jerich0 being shortlisted for The Student BAFTA Awards and winning “Film of the Year” in VFX from The Rookies.

Over 4,000 alumni (dubbed 'Escapees') started their careers with us, honing their skills here before moving on to great success within the industry. They form a strong network of passionate creative minds, which any student who joins us instantly becomes a part of.

They all have industry experience and are experts in their fields, including certified trainers for Unreal Engine, Autodesk and Houdini. They've worked at studios such as Walt Disney, EA and Framestore, on credits including Doctor Strange, Kingsman and Bond: Spectre.

Our industry partners are central to the way we’re run. From the curriculum we teach and how it’s delivered, to our webinars and special events, scholarships and feedback given on our students’ work.
Course development
Our partners help design, develop and deliver our courses. They take part in our Degree Concept Teams, form our Advisory Board and participate in the delivery as guest speakers and assessors. It means we only teach the techniques, skills and software that are relevant and needed in the industry, working with studios to fill their production pipelines with studio-ready artists.

Based in London, we’re close to some of the biggest studios in the world, including a number of our industry partners like Framestore (Avengers: Endgame) and Industrial Light & Magic (Star Wars).
Our campus is located in the heart of London's Design District on the Greenwich Peninsula, with amazing views of Thames and Canary Wharf.

Recent data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency indicates that 85% of full-time undergraduate students from Escape Studios who graduated in 2022/2023 are employed, with 82% of those holding highly skilled graduate-level positions.
Through our close partnership with Epic Games, we were the first Unreal Authorized Training Center in the UK and are an Unreal Engine Academic Partner.
As a Houdini Certified School, we train students and industry professionals in this highly-popular FX software.
Our official certification as a Toon Boom Harmony Authorised Training Centre (ATC), solidifies our position as a leading institution for 2D animation training.
