OUR CAMPUS
More like a studio than a campus
We've designed our space as well as our whole ethos to mirror a real industry studio experience. You're more likely to hear us talking about our "studios" than our "campus"!
You’ll learn industry-standard software from experienced tutors and be supported by our team of Studio Assistants. By the time you're an Escapee looking for professional roles, you'll be very familiar with a studio setup.
Our creative home
Our building is in the heart of the Greenwich Peninsula, in London's pedestrianised Design District. With amazing views of the Thames and Canary Wharf, we're a 3-minute walk from North Greenwich Tube Station, on the Jubilee Line.
There’s a vibrant student community in the area with restaurants, shops, bars and pop-ups close-by. Here are some highlights for your list.
Studio facilities
Studio classrooms (12-40 capacity) kitted with industry software you'd find in top studios
Student Services hub
Breakout spaces
Kitchens with fridges, microwaves, hot drink facilities and milk alternatives
Access to green screen and camera tech
Multi-faith prayer room
Epic views of London from the 10th and 11th floors (We're also on the 6th floor)!
Industry-standard hardware
Our studio classrooms are kitted with high-end HP Z Workstation Desktop PCs. We use Eizo ColorEdge monitors which are professional grade, colour-accurate monitors used extensively in the creative industries. We also use Wacom Intuos drawing tablets where relevant.
We offer both Windows and Linux - as many VFX studios use Linux. Most of our machines dual boot both operating systems, giving students the choice.
We offer some options for students to remote-access available workstations through VPN software, though our best support is through our on-site service. Workstations not in use become part of our render farm.

How to get here
We're easily accessible by Tube, bus, cable car, riverboat or road. Visit the TfL website for more details.
We're a 3-minute walk from North Greenwich Tube station, which is on the Jubilee Line. You can also access the 24-hour Night Tube on Friday and Saturday evenings.
We're a short walk from a number of bus stops outside North Greenwich station including services to Central London, Lewisham and Stratford.
A more unique way to get here! You can take the IFS Cloud Cable Car from Greenwich Peninsula (right behind our building) to Royal Docks. The ride takes you over the River Thames with amazing views of London.
From Royal Docks you can change for the DLR from Royal Victoria, or take a short walk to the ExCel London (think Comic Con!).
North Greenwich Pier is a couple of minutes' walk from our studios. You can take a River Bus service through Central London as far as Westminster or Putney Pier.
We have a few parking options nearby. The closest are either one of The O2 car parks or North Greenwich Station Car Park.
Campus accessibility information
Our nearest Tube station, North Greenwich (Jubilee Line), has step-free access from street to train.
Our building at 6 Mitre Passage is approximately 320 metres from North Greenwich station, across the North Greenwich Peninsula, which is a pedestrianised area.
The nearest public parking options are The O2 car parks or North Greenwich Station Car Park. We encourage visitors to use public transport where possible.
Our building at 6 Mitre Passage is shared with some other organisations. Our reception – The Escape Hub – can be found on the 10th floor. We are also on the 6th and 11th floors. While there are stairs available, we suggest that you will need to be comfortable using a lift to access our facilities.
Our campus facilities are on the 6th, 10th and 11th floors of our building at 6 Mitre Passage. There are several lifts that offer access to these floors. There is step-free access from the building entrance to all our campus facilities including studio classrooms.
Please note that the entrance doors from the lift area on the 10th and 11th floors do not currently open mechanically, so assistance may be necessary to open these doors. Students can ring the bell outside the 10th floor entrance door for assistance.
We do not currently have pre-designated wheelchair spaces in the studio classrooms, but we have previously and are happy to provide these spaces as needed by students.
There are a total of eight toilets on each floor, next to the lifts area. Each toilet is self-contained with a sink, mirror, hygiene bin and complimentary sanitary products.
There are three male toilets, three female toilets and one gender-neutral toilet on each floor.
There is one gender-neutral disabled access toilet on each floor.
We have a small multi-faith prayer room, Oasis, on the 10th floor, which can also be used as a quiet space when needed.
If you are a current student with access requirements, please contact studentservices@escapestudios.ac.uk.
Please let us know if you require any support or physical adjustments in order to access our events, no later than five working days before the activity. We will make reasonable adjustments where possible.
