Lorenzo Maniccia

Lorenzo is a VFX Artist, with skills in compositing and matte painting, who has worked freelance in the industry at studios including MPC. He has worked with our undergraduate students since our first intake in 2016, teaching 2D VFX (compositing). As well as his experience in VFX, Lorenzo has also contributed to the creation of open-source educational software (So.Di.Linux).   

Lorenzo studied at Sapienza University of Rome, UCL (University College London) and Escape Studios, completing our 3D for VFX course. “At university in Italy, I studied literature, philosophy, and fine art. Later I realised I was driven to do something more practical and visual, and that's when my adventure with Escape Studios started." Lorenzo joined the School of Animation and Visual Effects as a VFX Tutor in 2022, teaching on our undergraduate degrees.
