Simon Browne
Simon Browne has over 20 years of experience in animation and simulations, bringing a wealth of industry knowledge to his teaching. With a varied background in television, advertising, and corporate media, Simon has worked on animation, procedural simulations, and technical solutions for a wide range of projects.
A specialist in simulation-based workflows, Simon is a highly skilled technical artist with expertise in Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, Redshift, After Effects, and Unity. His strengths include fluid simulations, explosions, water interactions, fog, and cloth simulations, all underpinned by his deep understanding of advanced mathematics and physics. An experienced 3D generalist, keyframe animator, and matchmoving artist, Simon also brings his coding expertise to his technical art practice, offering innovative and precise solutions.
Simon teaches across our Technical Art courses, where he emphasises the application of mathematics and physics to creative problem-solving, inspiring students to explore the full potential of technical artistry in interactive and real-time media.
Simon will likely not specifically be linked to the MSc in the future. We will have to hire for this role, as Simon was hired more specifically to cover Patrick.
